About the Author

Phil PartingtonPhil Partington is a writing enthusiast of many years, having been published in numerous online and national print trade and sports publications over the past decade. He has spent the past five years delving back into the world of fiction writing, focussing on the fantasy, horror and suspense genres. The Siren’s Lyric is his first novel.

He has a BA in English and a Minor in Business Administration. Aside from writing, Phil dabbles in graphic design and has taken a few jobs over the year (while turning down a few full time GD jobs).

He hails from Washington state (a great source of inspiration for writing forest and water-based landmarks) with is wife and two sons. When he isn’t working at his day job or writing fiction, he spends his time plucking away on the guitar, watching sports (mostly basketball and football), hanging out with friends and family and just enjoying life.

    Hey Phil, thanks for following my blog =)
    As an aspiring writer still in school I found your writing tools pretty enlightening. I think creative writing is something that a lot of schools like mine neglect, unfortunately, so it was refreshing to read some advice.

    • Thanks Mashi! And I only followed because I enjoyed what I read. Yes, I think creative writing’s probably a hard thing to teach, as the ‘rules’ of it are constantly being broken and constantly changing for the ever-evolving audience.
