The Stressful Life of a Writer has Nothing to do with Writing

Me as a pumpkin

Me as a pumpkin

Halloween is tomorrow and I haven’t even carved pumpkins with the little ones yet (and the three-year-old is especially excited). Ugh. And…we have SIX pumpkins, because his preschool keeps giving him free ones! Tonight we can’t do it, because we’re going up to the wife’s folks, which leaves tomorrow after I pick them up from daycare. So we’re jamming that into a night of eating quickly, DECORATING (yes, we haven’t even done that yet) and getting them ready for trick-or-treating. Oh, and finalizing the hiring of a nanny. Yippee! When am I supposed to write, again?

Thanks for reading this random vent. I know those of you who are British are laughing right now. Halloween is kind of silly, but it sure is fun for the kiddoes, even if it is the one time of year when we tell ’em to screw everything else we’ve ever said about stranger danger and go up to the houses of people you don’t know and ask for candy…threatening to trick them if you don’t. How can you NOT like this country? 😀

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate. Happy weekend to those who don’t.
